Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to stay active. Exercise not only keeps me physically fit, but it also helps keep my mind clear and focused. One activity I love the most is running. Last year’s Atlantic City Marathon went virtual due to COVID concerns. But this year’s event looks to return live and in person.
What: Atlantic City Marathon 2021
Where: Ballys (1900 Pacific Ave)
When: October 16th (5k & 10k) and October 17th (Half and Full Marathon)
Contact: AC Race Series (609) 822-1167
Atlantic City Marathon 2021
Now in its 63rd year, the AC Marathon is the third-oldest marathon in the entire country. It also serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The mostly flat course takes runners from Atlantic City to Longport and back. With the beautiful Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop, how can you not help but push through? After each day’s race finishes, organizers welcome participants and spectators to join in the after-party fun.
Race Breakdown
For the more active runner, the half-marathon (13.1 miles) and the full marathon (26.2 miles) both take place on Sunday, October 17th. But for novices wishing to dip their toe into the marathon pond, sign up for a fun 5k or 10k run/walk on the 16th. However, if you really enjoy a challenge, sign up for both days. That promises to get your blood pumping! Visit the AC Race Series website for more information and to sign up today.
Volunteers Needed
Volunteers help make the marathon run like a well-oiled machine. They set up and tear down the venue as well as work the hydration stations, check-in runners, and much more. For your efforts, you receive a front-row seat to the action as well as a crew T-shirt. If you want to volunteer your time to the weekend’s events, please contact Race Director Genia Bittner at (609) 822-1167 or via email.
