Ventnor Porch Party 2023
North Beach takes its motto “where your front porch meets the sea” very seriously. This year’s porch party takes place from 7 pm to 10 pm on Saturday, July 29th. It involves the front porches on South Hillside Ave between Atlantic and Ventnor. As always, everyone is welcome to attend. However, you must RSVP by July 22nd in order to do so. This year’s live entertainment features singer Ricky Stevens. Everyone who attends must bring one food item as well as beverages that are enough to feed the party you bring with you. In addition to the food and entertainment, there will be a few raffles for some great prizes. So, submit your RSVP today or else you will miss out on a great night of family-friendly fun.
Ventnor DWI Checkpoints
Just a gentle reminder. A couple of weeks ago, I talked about Ventnor police cracking down on drunk drivers. They set up extra DWI checkpoints around Ventnor City to keep an eye out for anyone driving under the influence. Even first-time offenders must pay a fine, spend time in jail, and lose their licenses. It is not worth the trouble you will find yourself in if you get caught driving drunk. There are too many other options available to you to make sure you get home safely…and protect the safety of others in the process. If you plan on enjoying an adult beverage or two during your evening out, make arrangements ahead of time for your return trip home. The life you save may be your own.
Margate PD Bicycle Auction
While next weekend sounds like loads of fun in Ventnor, there’s an event happening this weekend in Margate that may catch your fancy. Every year, the Margate Police Department seizes dozens of bicycles due to theft recovery, confiscation, or abandonment. Where do these bikes end up? At the Margate PD bicycle auction. This year’s auction takes place at 10 am on Saturday, July 22nd. If you want to check out what goes up on the auction block, previews begin at 9:30 am. The auction takes place at the PD’s garage located at 111 Decatur Ave. All bikes will be sold “as is” in cash or via a certified check only to the highest bidder.
