The Chanukah festivities at the Shore wrap up with arcade games and jelly donuts at Jilly’s Arcade in Ocean City. For our Christian friends, Christmas is just three weeks away. But it looks like we get to celebrate early with the Ventnor Holiday Parade taking place tomorrow!
Ventnor Holiday Parade 2021
After cancellation last year due to COVID, the Ventnor Holiday Parade returns to Ventnor Ave for 2021 at 5 pm on December 4th. (Rain date scheduled for December 5th.) To celebrate their return, they lengthened the entire parade route from a quarter-mile to an entire mile. Instead of ending at Troy Ave like in past years, it starts at Troy and ends at Oakland Ave. Come watch officials, high school marching bands, businesses, and organizations make their way along Ventnor Ave to spark up the Christmas spirit in us all. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs from home and set them up anywhere along the parade route. But you might want to get there a little early to find a good spot.
Parade After-Party
Once the parade ends, the City invites the public to attend an after-party at Ventnor’s Memory Park (on Ventnor Ave near Oakland). Warm up with hot chocolate and/or soup. Let the kids enjoy a pony ride. Get your face painted. And participate in some holiday-themed games and activities for fun. Several vendors will also be on hand. So, this offers a great opportunity to check names off your Christmas gift list. Plus, I hear whispers that Santa may make an appearance. Bring your camera with you to capture this great photo-op with the jolly old elf himself before he heads back up to the North Pole to prepare for the big day.
Happy holidays!
