I hope you had a great Thanksgiving full of good food and great company. Are you one of those people that makes plans to hit the shops on Black Friday to score some great deals? If fighting the maddening crowds sounds less than ideal, think more locally. What do I mean? How about shopping Small Business Saturday Margate 2022 instead?
Small Business Saturday Margate 2022
To kick things off, organizers put together a fun parade at noon on Saturday, November 26th. The parade leaves the Margate Fire Department with Santa in tow. It travels up Washington Ave to Cedar Grove. Then it turns on Atlantic Ave and heads down to Coolidge Ave. From Coolidge, the parade continues on to Ventnor Ave and ends at Boca Coal Fired Bistro (7805 Ventnor). Santa disembarks at Boca and poses for pictures throughout the afternoon.
Make sure your little ones write out their letters to Santa ahead of time. Then, bring them to Boca on Saturday so they can drop them off in Santa’s mailbox. Afterward, head inside for a free slice of pizza for the little ones.
Shop Small Contests
To help entice you to keep your holiday spending local, organizers of Small Business Saturday Margate will host a couple of contests throughout this weekend. When you shop inside one of Margate’s businesses between November 26th and 28th, take a quick pic of your receipt. Then, email that pic to the Margate Business Association for their Receipts Are All the Rage (RAAR) contest. The MBA chooses one entry at random to receive a gift certificate to the store on the receipt to spend on your next shopping trip.
The second contest is the Shop Small Selfie Contest. Find your best light outside of your favorite Margate store (or stores). Then, grab your smartphone, snap a pic that includes the name of the business in it, and email that photo to the Margate Business Association by the end of the day on Sunday, November 27th. So, put your best pose on and snap away. Entries will be uploaded to their website for public voting. The winner will then be announced on December 4th.
Lucy News Update
Earlier this month, I told you about a special benefit concert for Lucy the Elephant. It seems that it cost a lot more to give our gal her much-needed updating. In fact, it cost about $1 million more than originally anticipated. The benefit concert is still scheduled to take place on December 11th. And tickets are still available. So, please purchase yours today. If you wish to see what Margate’s favorite pachyderm looks like now, come to her official unveiling on December 14th. Check back on her website to see if anything changes before then.
