Over the past couple of years, many people developed an appreciation of cooking at home once again. Sometimes, though, finding something new to whip up for your family may feel a bit daunting. The Margate Education Foundation wants to gather together as many recipes from local parents as possible to create a Margate community cookbook. Sales of this book help enrich the education of students in the Margate school system.
Margate Community Cookbook
Is there one recipe you are “known” for? Do people beg you to bring a specific appetizer, dessert, or entree to every potluck? What is the one family favorite recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation? Feel free to share it with the class. Please consider submitting that recipe to the MEF’s Margate community cookbook.
The foundation accepts submissions of recipes and illustrations of the completed work (if you wish) all February long. Simply download your recipe “card” here. Fill it out with the directions to your yummy dish. Then, give it to your child to hand in to their homeroom teacher or school’s office. The foundation assembles all of these recipes together to create their Margate Mangia! cookbook. Look for it for sale on Amazon later this spring.
Search through your family’s old recipes. Ask your kids what dish they enjoy every time you make it. What brings about the most delicious memories from your childhood? Download your form. Fill it out. Add a photo of the completed product. Then submit it to the Margate community cookbook to share with your neighbors. Later on, visit Amazon to look for Margate Mangia! and see what your neighbors included. Help yourself with future meal or dessert prep while helping our kids enrich their educational experience. Buon appetito!
