Summertime lurks right around the corner. Jersey Shore town residents double and sometimes triple with tourists flocking to our shores between Memorial Day and Labor Day. After a bit of a hiccup last year, it looks like that may return this summer. But in order to play on our beaches, you need a badge. Longport beach badges are on sale right now at a huge discount.
Longport Beach Badge Info
As of June 1st, anyone aged 12 or older who visits a Longport beach needs to obtain a badge first. If you want to receive a 50% discount on your badge, make sure to purchase it before June 18th. Right now, badges may be purchased in person at Burrough Hall (2305 Atlantic Ave) anytime between 9 am and 4 pm every Monday through Friday. Starting May 28th, you may also purchase them in person at the Longport Community Building (33rd & Atlantic Ave) between 9 am and 4 pm any day of the week.
For your convenience, the City partnered with Viply to create an app to purchase Longport beach badges. So, forget the hassle of waiting in line for your badge. Download the Viply app (available at the Apple App Store or through Google Play). But if you prefer the old-fashioned mail-in method, download a beach badge form here and send it in to Burrough Hall. Just make sure it reaches them before the June 18th deadline to take advantage of the discount.
Margate & Ventnor Beach Badges
Back in February , I talked about purchasing Margate and Ventnor beach badges. One badge covers both beaches. You have until May 31st to purchase your badges at the 50% discount ($10 each for ages 12 to 64 and $3.50 for ages 65+). After that, they go up their regular price ($20 and $7). The end of May will be here before you know it. So get your beach badges right away.
