So, the weather outside says winter. But before you know it, summer will be here. And that means that you need to start thinking about purchasing your Margate summer beach badges sooner rather than later, especially if you want to save some money.
Margate Summer Beach Badges 2021
Margate’s summer season officially starts on June 1st. Last summer, COVID concerns meant a “new normal” for Jersey Shore beaches. Even with more and more people receiving COVID-19 vaccinations, this “new normal” may continue into the 2021 summer season. Regardless, anyone aged 12 or older must keep their summer beach badge on them any time they visit a Margate beach. You may purchase your beach badge right now if you wish. One badge applies to both Ventnor and Margate beaches.
How to Purchase Margate Summer Beach Badges for 2021
You may purchase your Margate summer beach badges in one of three ways: in person, via email reservation (for in-person pickup later), or via an app. Visit the Martin Bloom Pavilion (located at Granville and Beach) during normal business hours (10 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday) for in-person purchase. Or download a reservation form, complete it, and mail it and all applicable fees to the City of Margate. This reservation form must be postmarked no later than May 31st. Then, the City sets aside your requested badges for pick-up starting May 29th at the Martin Bloom Pavilion. Finally, anyone with a smartphone may download the Viply app to purchase their badges (available through the Apple Store or Google Play). However, you still must pick up your physical badges at the pavilion before you go to the beach.
How Much Do Badges Cost?
On June 1st, all badges cost $20 each. But, when you purchase them during the pre-season (by May 31st in-person or June 1st on Viply), you receive a hefty discount. Pay just $10 per badge for ages 12 to 64 and $3.50 per badge for ages 65+. Military members receive their badges for free. Just show your military ID at time of purchase.
Remember, you may be asked to show your Margate summer beach badges at any time throughout the summer season. So, always make sure you bring your physical badge with you along with your sunscreen, sunglasses, and other beach paraphernalia. Stay safe, enjoy yourself, and get your badge today.
