Can you believe that we are already at the end of July? This year seems to be positively flying by. Before you know it, summer will be over. But not yet. In fact, it’s almost time for one of my most favorite summertime events: the Atlantic City Air Show.
What: Atlantic City Air Show 2023
Where: The Boardwalk & AC Beaches
When: August 15th & 16th, 11 am
Admission: FREE to $25
Atlantic City Air Show 2023
The AC Air Show always brings out the best pilots in the world. This year appears to be no different. Guests will get to see the USMC AV-8B Harrier (most memorably seen in the 1994 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie “True Lies”) as well as a classic P-51 Mustang. Watch the Army’s Golden Knights parachute their way down from the heavens. And, of course, no air show would be complete without the world-famous USAF Thunderbirds! But those are just a few of the amazing performers set to man the skies over Atlantic City. These amazing men and women plan on flying come rain or shine. Come early so you don’t miss one minute of the excitement!
Fly Zone Ticket Info
Yes, it’s true. The Boardwalk and beaches provide free viewing for spectators. However, if you want a truly special experience, you might want to purchase tickets for the Fly Zone. Part of the beach gets sectioned off specifically for the air show’s Fly Zone. For a fee ($1o to $15 for practice day and $20 to $25 for show day), guests receive VIP treatment right on the beach. Bring your chair and an umbrella for comfort. Listen to commentary from aerial experts. Grab yourself some food and something to drink while you watch the show as well (for an additional fee). They even provide convenient access to restrooms nearby. Additionally, pass some of the time while you wait playing cornhole. No alcohol allowed. Avoid the crowds and get an awesome seat. Purchase your Fly Zone tickets today. (Kids ages five and under get in for free.)
Best Places to Watch for Free
Not interested in paying for the Fly Zone? Don’t worry. There are still plenty of places to watch the excitement that won’t cost you a dime. However, you will have to fight the crowds. That means coming early to make sure you scout out a good spot first. Anywhere along the famous AC Boardwalk offers premium viewing. Also, any AC beach is a great place to watch from as well. Stop in to one of the many dining establishments along the Boardwalk and sit out on the patio during the show. If you plan on taking your boat out on the water during the practice or show times, you can watch from there as well. Just make sure to watch out for the restricted “no boat zone” areas. Police patrol the waters before, during, and after the show. So watch out for these signs and stay away.
