In just 25 days from the writing of this post, American voters head to the polls to cast their ballots for the president of the United States. Coronavirus has wreaked havoc with our daily living already. For the first time ever, the Atlantic City Marathon goes virtual this year. The thought of heading to a voting booth and waiting among a crowd of people to cast your vote might cause you hesitation. You have options to exercise your right to vote. The “how” and the “where” of it all is explained in the 2020 voting info below.
Jersey Shore 2020 Voting Info
In order to vote in this November’s election, you must be at least 18 years old on Election Day and have registered to vote by October 13th. If you are currently 17 but will turn 18 no later than November 3rd, 2020, you need to register before October 13th. Also, you must live in the county you register in for at least 30 days before Election Day. For your convenience, register online. You need you NJ driver’s license or ID card or social security number to register online.
In-person voting takes place at local polling stations from 6 am to 8 pm on Election Day. Not sure where your polling place is located? Visit the NJ.gov website to find out where to vote in Atlantic County. Whether casting an in-person vote or dropping off your mail-in ballot, please wear your mask and maintain at least a six-foot distance from others around you. Vote by Mail Drop Boxes at the Jersey Shore
Want to avoid the long lines at the poll? Did you receive a mail-in ballot earlier this year? If not, request your mail-in ballot right now. You have until October 23rd to do so. You may send your ballot off via regular USPS mail or drop off your completed mail-in ballot at any one of the mail drop locations in Atlantic County. Another way to ensure in-person delivery of your ballot is to drop it off at the Atlantic County Board of Elections before 8 pm on November 3rd. All mail-in ballots must be postmarked no later than November 3rd to be counted.
