Hear ye! Hear ye! The good Duke of Northumberland decrees the Shire of Smithville to be a place of wonder and merriment for all during the weekend of April 27th and 28th. That’s when the players of the New Jersey Ren Faire showcase their talents for a special Smithville Renaissance Faire. While the official New Jersey Renaissance Faire is still a few weeks from happening, those involved with that event put on a preview performance of what’s to come at this spring fun event. Guests enjoy live theatrical productions, roving street performers, dancing, singing, sword-fighting, jesters, knights, and so much more. Visit ye olde vendors hawking their handmade wares to the public at large. Frolic in the revelry that is the Smithville Renaissance Faire. Good times for any age.
Margate City-Wide Yard Sale & Rabies Clinic
What: Yard Sale & Rabies Clinic
Where: Margate Fire House (1 S Washington Ave)
When: Saturday, May 4th, 10 am to 12 pm (rabies clinic), 8 am to 5 pm (yard sale)
Admission: FREE
City officials designated May 4th as “Yard Sale Day” for the City of Margate and its citizens. Dozens of residents signed up to participate. Pick up a map at City Hall anytime between now and the 4th. These maps show the places to visit to find treasures to bring back to your home (aka “yard sale locations”). Since the maps have already been printed, no other official yard sale addresses can be added. However, feel free to set up your items for sale at that time as well so you can take advantage of all that yard sale traffic throughout the city.
In conjunction with the city-wide yard sale, the Margate Fire House hosts a free rabies shot clinic for cats and dogs. If your pet needs their 3-year booster shot, bring them to the Fire House between 10 am and 12 pm. Your pet must have its 2019 license to receive the free rabies shot. If you don’t have one yet, you can purchase one for just $6 for any spayed/neutered cat or dog and $9 for non-spayed/neutered ones. All pets must be leashed or brought in a cage for their safety and others around them. If your pet received their rabies shot in 2017 or 2018, they don’t need one for 2019.
