Margate Fall Funfest 2023
For over two decades now, Fall Funfest has been THE way to say “hello” to fall. And each year it keeps getting bigger and bigger. This year, vendors set up more than 110 booths to cater to the 20,000 people expected to flock to the Margate bayfront. These vendors include local artists and artisans, sponsors, local businesses, municipal departments, and more. Of course, dozens of food vendors serve up incredible cuisine. Twenty-two acts perform live on two stages throughout the two-day event. Guests get to enjoy a parade each day. Plus, you won’t want to miss Steve & Cookie’s Dog Show. It’s a huge hit every single year. Get your pup signed up now. Also, kids will definitely enjoy themselves with kid-friendly games, activities, live shows on the kids’ stage, and the Wetland Wonderland that includes the annual Terrapin Turtle Release.
Certainly, you can’t say “Funfest” without cornhole. Every year, this event includes a highly competitive cornhole tournament. The tournament consists of two-man teams competing against one another for fun, bragging rights, and a nice cash prize. Entry costs $50 per team. They only allow a certain number of teams to compete, though. So, the sooner you register, the better. Competition starts at 1 pm on Saturday. If you decide that you don’t want to compete, come back on Sunday for free recreational play.
Margate Funfest After Dark 2023
Once the daytime fun ends, leave the kiddos with a babysitter at home and head back to the Washington Ave Pier for Funfest After Dark. This popular event caters to the 21 and older crowd. NJ British Invasion performs their versions of hits from The Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Clash, and other British bands of the 60s and 70s. Your admission fee includes up to five samples of wine and spirits in the Tito’s Handmade Vodka tent. But you shouldn’t partake of the wine and spirits on an empty stomach. Thankfully, the Philly Pretzel Factory and Dino’s Subs provide yummy finger foods to keep you satiated and ready for more. New for this year is a Barbie photo booth to help you capture the evening on film to commemorate the fun with your friends.
