Our local beaches provide more than just nice scenery. They are truly the lifeline of our community. Each year of the past four decades, Clean Ocean Action has organized Jersey Shore beach sweeps along our local coastline. They are currently looking for a few good men and women to help them with their cause before the ultra-busy summer season strikes.
Jersey Shore Beach Sweeps
COA plans sweeps of several beaches along the Jersey Shore on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. Gather up your family, friends, social groups, co-workers, and anybody else interested in helping out. All ages are welcome to join in. However, parents or guardians must accompany any volunteers under the age of 12. The event takes place come rain or shine. You may choose from one of more than 80 locations for the date of the event. Organizers set an arrival time of 9:30 am (unless otherwise noted on the sign-up form). They expect to finish around 12:30 pm. You may sign up online at the COA website here. The sooner you sign up, the better.
Atlantic County Earth Day 2024
Just another reminder that Defend Brigantine Beach hosts a fun and informative Earth Day brunch fundraiser on Sunday, April 21st at Provenza. In between bites of delicious food and sips of bubbly champagne, find out how you can make our beaches, our streets, and our homes more environmentally friendly. Reserve your tickets today by either visiting the Earth Day brunch website here or scanning the QR code in this post. When you come to the brunch, make sure you say “hi”. I definitely plan on attending and I hope you do, too.
