A long-standing tradition comes to the Boardwalk this weekend. That’s right. Strap on those running shoes. It’s time for the Atlantic City Marathon!

Atlantic City Marathon 2023
Unfortunately, all of the spots for the AC Marathon and even the half-marathon have filled up. If you missed your chance to participate this year, consider coming out to cheer our runners on. You will find the start/finish line at Bally’s (1900 Boardwalk). Participants in the AC Marathon qualify to run in the Boston Marathon in April 2024.
The marathon starts out right on the one-and-only, historic Atlantic City Boardwalk. Runners start out traveling east on the Boardwalk until they get to MLK Jr Blvd. After they run through the tunnel, they head out to Renaissance Point before heading south along Maryland Ave, east on Melrose, up to Parkside Ave, and then down New Hampshire to the eastern edge of the Boardwalk. Once there, they run the entire length of the Boardwalk until they reach Atlantic Ave. After that, they continue along Altantic Avenue to 11th Ave. After they hit 11th, they turn back around to travel up Atlantic. Then, they take a detour north on Monroe, east along Amherst, north on Jerome, over to Marshall, down Huntington, and back along Amherst. After that, they take Monroe south back to Atlantic Avenue and then back up along the Boardwalk to finish up where they started…Bally’s! For a complete map of the course, download it here.
Spectators are welcome to bring a chair with them and set up anywhere along the course. However, organizers want to make sure only foot traffic is allowed along the route. That means no bicycles either.
Parking Info
Parking can be difficult. You may park at Caesar’s, Bally’s, or the public parking garages at Park Place (located both at 116 Park Pl as well as 148 S MLK Jr Blvd) and 2201 Pacific Ave. Additionally, some street parking may be available close to several points along the marathon route. My suggestion is to get there early and wear a good pair of walking shoes. You might end up walking for a bit from your car to the course. But the runners will be so happy to hear you cheering them on. So, it’s well worth it.
Jewish Federation Donations
On a more somber note, the atrocities taking place in and around Israel have had a profound effect on me, my family, and many others right here in the United States. If you would like to show your support, please scan the QR code here and donate to the Jewish Federation. Make sure to add “Israel” to the tribute line so that your donation will be earmarked for the Federation’s Israel Emergency Fund. Thank you.
