Lying just South of Atlantic City, Ventnor is your quintessential beach town that’s close to all the entertainment and excitement, but far enough to retain its family-friendly charm. Ventnor City School District is made up of two PreK-8 schools, and it’s public library is just steps from the beach. Ventnor is known for its clean and spacious beaches, which are within walking distance of much of the town.
Downtown Ventnor has everything you need too, with lots of unique restaurants and mom-and-pop shops. Be sure to check out the fishing pier, which is the longest ocean pier in the state! It’s a popular spot to take in the view and see water sports such as surfing and kite-surfing.
Ventnor City Schools
There are two schools serving Ventnor City students, Ventnor Elementary and Ventnor Middle School. While these two schools operate separately, they are located at the Ventnor Educational Community Complex (VECC). High school students in Ventnor City attend Atlantic City High School. This is part of a sending/receiving relationship created between the cities and the Atlantic City Board of Education that was established in 1920.
The Ventnor City Public Schools are committed to preparing today’s youth for tomorrow’s challenges through a curriculum based on solid, researched and focused academic training. Within the context of the academic curriculum, schools shall foster cognitive development, creativity, curiosity, self-esteem and self-discipline; the end product being a student with the knowledge, self-confidence and desire to succeed in life.
